World Food Program is the food aid arm of the United Nations system. The policies governing the use of World Food Program food aid are oriented towards the objective of eradicating hunger and poverty. As the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against hunger, WFP is continually responding to emergencies. WFP has now reached around 1.9 million people since the earthquake struck. While their contribution has been significant, nearly one month after the earth trembled and destroyed much of Haiti, too much remains the same, and too little has changed.
