CHEEKWOOD ANNOUNCES “LIVE! PAINTERS IN THE GARDEN”

In conjunction with The American Impressionists in the Garden exhibition in Cheekwood’s Museum of Art, members of the Chestnut Group will capture the beauty of the gardens while demonstrating the techniques of painting en plein air during the month of April.

Visitors can pass through Cheekwood’s Burr Terrace Garden or Wills Perennial Garden to see landscape painters at work during the following times:

Live! Painters in the Garden

Tuesdays, 10:00am – 12:00pm

Sundays, 2:00pm – 4:00pm

The American Impressionists in the Garden is an exhibition exploring the theme of the garden in American art and society of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.  The exhibition features approximately forty paintings depicting European and American gardens by American Impressionist artists along with four bronze sculptures created by American artists for the garden and will be on display through September 5.

Cheekwood is a 55-acre botanical garden and art museum located on the historic Cheek estate. Cheekwood exists to celebrate and preserve its landscape, buildings, and art and botanical collections, and, through these unique means provide an inspiring place for visitors to explore their connections with art, nature and the environment.
