On December 14, Tinney Contemporary gallery will host a silent auction/online auction/live auction with performances in collaboration with the Americana Music Association. Thirty songwriters have donated lyrics and photographs that will be up for bids at the event. Jim Lauderdale will be auctioneer, and live music will serenade guests throughout the evening. The Americana Music Association proudly celebrates the “music that derives from American roots music but is contemporary,” according to executive director Jed Hilly. Although the organization is a nonprofit established to promote artists who might not get airplay on commercial radio, its members include legends such as Emmylou Harris, Nancy Griffith, and John Prine.
