Discover one of Nashville’s most enduring traditions at TACA, the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists annual festival encompassing a wide variety of crafts and styles from traditional to modern. This year more than 200 artists from across the nation will visit Nashville for the 2010 TACA Fall Craft Fair to be held September 24, 25, 26 in historic Centennial Park. The statewide organization invites residents and visitors to celebrate the work of the hand.

Woodcarving, stained glass, sculpture, pottery, and jewelry are among the works of fine craft more than 45,000 people view each fall. The Fair gives visitors the opportunity to engage in craft from the creation through the finished product, as well as a chance to meet the artisans of their favorite pieces. Vivid glazes, translucent textures in glass, and works in wood begging to be touched enchant visitors of all ages, tastes, and budgets as they enjoy this unique buying venue.

“This craft fair serves not only as a great family outing and a wonderful venue for early holiday shopping, but also as an education in fine craft, a lesson in history, and an opportunity to learn about the hands behind your favorite mug,” says Elaine Wood, TACA’s executive director.

Artists will be on site with their crafts available for purchase from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Parking and admission are free and open to the public.
