The Barefoot Children in the City of Ward is an original play by Cori Anne Laemmel. The Theater Bug is proud to present this production in collaboration with Gilda’s Club, a Middle Tennessee nonprofit organization that provides support, education, and hope to people impacted by cancer. Partial proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the mission of Gilda’s Club.

This play is set in the City of Ward, a city inhabited by children only. The City of Ward seems like a magical civilization, but in reality it is the children’s ward of “Nations Hospital,” one of the best pediatric oncology facilities in the world. Sixty-five actors between the ages of 5 and 18 bring the imaginative inhabitants of this children’s ward to life in the Theater Bug’s latest production.

This production will run February 1-4, Thurs-Sat at 7 p.m. and Sun at 4 p.m.; and Feb.8-11, Thurs-Sat at 7 p.m. and Sun at 6 p.m.; and  Feb.15-16 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for children and $10 for adults online, or $7 for children and $12 for adults at the door.
