The W. O. Smith Music School will host its ninth annual Birdhouse Thing on Thursday, March 11, 5:30–8 p.m. This benefit event offers up 150 artfully designed birdhouses and other items for purchase through live and silent auction. Tickets are $40. Birdhouses are decorated by local artists, architects, celebrities, and public figures. In addition to attending on March 11, supporters can participate in an online celebrity auction, featuring birdhouses and packages from Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker, Wynonna, and more. Bids are accepted March 4–23 at opryauction.com. The W. O. Smith Music School (wosmith.org) has provided affordable, high-quality music education to children from low-income families since 1984. The volunteer faculty from across Nashville’s music community offers instruction in all band and orchestra instruments, piano, guitar, and voice.
