More than 4,000 artists, critics, curators, collectors, and museum and gallery professionals from the international art communities arrived in istanbul, turkey, in mid September for the opening of the 12th Istanbul Biennial. It was estimated that over four hundred members of the foreign press from fifty countries were on hand…


…One of the solo exhibitions was the work of Nashville-based artist Vesna Pavlovic, whose work was seen recently in the Gordon Contemporary Artist’s Project Gallery at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts. Pavlovic, a Serbian native, is the first artist from Nashville to exhibit in the prestigious biennial and one of only fifty to be given one of the solo exhibitions.
