Adult Classes

Oil Painting
Mondays (monthly)
9-11am
Description: The class includes instruction in oil painting and drawing.
Instructor: Rhonda Wernick, Professional Artist
Cost: $80 per month (4 wks) / $100 non-members

Art at the Zoo with Rhonda
Thursday, September 18
10:30am (meet at the zoo) – 1pm
Description: Art and zoo enthusiasts 21 and over can sketch “real time” and take pictures for future paintings and drawings.
Instructor: Rhonda Wernick, Professional Artist
Cost: $15pp + $15 zoo admission (free with zoo membership) and bring or buy lunch
Supplies: Bring a drawing pad, pencils, charcoal or pastels, and definitely your camera.

Monster and Zombie Madness: Make-Up for Adults
Monday, October 6
7-9pm
Description: Learn the make-up tricks of the pros to transform yourself to a “Zombie” or monster.
Instructor: Hannah Johnston is a locally trained make-up effects artist with 4 years experience instructing makeup at the Kids On Stage Summer Academy in Leiper’s Fork and TPAC Adult Education in Nashville.
Cost: $45 / $65 non-members

Acrylic Painting Class
October 14, 21, 28 & Nov. 4 (4 sessions)

Description: Learn to paint with acrylics. You will produce a different painting each week.

Something Old…Something New: How to Repurpose your Clothing

Description: Learn new ways to repurpose clothes, fabric and fashion items. Update your wardrobe with minimum effort and money.
Instructor: Carrie Mills, Parsons School of Design alumni’s career has included designing for Anne Klein Studios, several NYC handbag design companies, and designing her own line of vests coveted by top country artists.
Cost: $25 per person / $35 non-members
Supplies: bring a few items of clothing or accessories that you are discarding. Optional – 1-2 yards of (preferably) knit fabric or 1–2 yards of another fabric.

Description: Participants will have the choice of creating unique masks from fabric, paper or a pre-formed mask base and will utilize a variety of crafting techniques and materials (feathers, glue, sequins, paint and sewing implements)
