Graphic design is getting “Split & Twisted” this fall at Watkins College of Art, Design, and Film!
Watkins is hosting its annual juried graphic design exhibition, Split & Twisted, from October 23 through November 14. The show exhibits graphic design works created by students at Watkins. Graphic Design majors were eligible to submit projects in ten categories, including Advertising, Books & Jackets, Illustration Series, Poster/ Design, and Publication Design.
The show will be juried by Senior Art Director Neely Tabor of Gish, Sherwood & Friends, along with several of her colleagues. There will be winners for each of the ten categories as well as best in show and faculty choice awards. The works are sure to impress—Watkins Graphic Design students are typically some of the most highly praised in the country. This year, Watkins students swept the Nashville AADY awards, hosted by the American Advertising Federation. Students from Watkins won more top-level awards than any other school, and three of four Judge’s Choice Awards!
The Opening reception for Split & Twisted will be held on October 23rd from 5:30- 8:00 p.m. at the Brownlee O. Curry, Jr. Gallery on the Watkins campus. The exhibition will run through November 14th. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m- 4:00 p.m. Watkins College is located at 2298 Rosa L. Parks Boulevard in Metro Center. For more information, please visit www.watkins.edu.
