The Gateway Chamber Orchestra presents the opening concert of the 2016-17 Clarksville Pediatric Dentistry Family Series: Peter and The Wolf on November 13 at 3pm. The all-ages symphony, originally written by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, is a charming children’s story told both through narration and the Gateway Chamber Orchestra. Sebastian Knowles narrates, and the visual artistry of Black & Jones turns Peter and the Wolf into a true multimedia experience.

And before the show, there’s more happening at the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall. Arrive an hour early to make crafts and visit the Instrument Petting Zoo, where children will have a chance to make sounds with professional instruments. Girls and boys of all ages are extremely excited to answer the age old question “are petting zoos loud enough?” An orientation towards the whole family is clear in this telling of Peter and the Wolf, where each instrument clearly defines each character in the story, making it more accessible for younger audiences. The show promises to be an engaging multimedia experience that parents and children alike will enjoy.

Peter and the Wolf is November 13 at 3pm in the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville. Preshow activities start at 2pm. Tickets and information can be found at
