The Theater Bug is showing the new original play You’re Still Here by Cori Anne Laemmel from July 28 to August 5 at their theater. Starring Melodie Madden Adams, Lauren Berst, and Bakari Jamal King and a cast of 30 other actors, You’re Still Here tells the story of a young woman named Mia who is confronted with grief following her father’s death. Grief takes a human form in this drama, and the cast exhibits the struggle to find reconciliation of emotional trauma in a unique way.
The theater produced this play with consultation from Alive Hospice Grief Center, a Middle Tennessee organization that provides counseling to all ages. The original score for You’re Still Here was created by Anthony and Laura Matula.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12 when you purchase online. You may also buy tickets at the door for $17 and $7, respectively, up to one hour prior to showtime if they are not sold out. The August 4 showing will have ASL interpretation available. This show explores mature themes and contains adult language.
